The Prelude 2 Series turntables make a significant leap forward in pulling detail from vinyl with numerous small, and not so small, changes to the well regarded and very musical original Prelude design.

The Prelude 2 Series simply offers greater insight and musicality from your treasured LP collection.  It comes in standard piano black or white finishes with anodised aluminium and stainless steel parts.  It offers two motor positions, behind or to the front of the isolation platform (its suggested that at the front, it has superior performance), this is a customer choice. 

The heart of any turntable is the platter bearing and the Prelude 2 Series bearing is as quiet as any found in high end turntables costing many times more; the thrust bearing for instance rests on a precision ruby sapphire ball.

Critical damping and isolation is designed into the support platform and plinth, manufactured from a new high density material with excellent self damping characteristics, bonded in a special constrained layer design and high gloss 'piano finish' painted. All the elements combine to look superb!  Special colour paint finishes plus a natural oiled grey finish are available to special order.

The platter is manufactured from cast acrylic and the belt driving this from the motor is high traction, offering the lowest wow and flutter measurements.

The tone-arm support is designed with an easy change arm mount to accept any brand or type of tonearm you wish to use, or for SME slide mount fixings.

The Prelude Mk2 even comes complete with a purpose designed anodised aluminium record clamp (weight) to control resonances at the platter / record interface.

There are three motor control options, so the Mk2 is upgradable.The motor itself is encased within an aluminium vibration damped pod, driven from the control electronics.

Option 2.1 utilises a capacitor/resistor circuit in the power supply with a manual 33.3/45 pully.

Option 2.2 has a separate motor power box, with transformer and electronics smoothing the power supply for a deeper, smoother sound quality, with a manual 33.3/45 pully.

Option 2.3 utilises a quartz crystal timing circuit generating a perfect sine wave and offering both 33.3 and 45 RPM speeds electronically - and the smoothest possible platter rotation.

The price of every Prelude Series 2 turntable includes a comprehensive set up and home install service. We offer this service free of charge to our Thames Valley area customers to ensure the turntable is correctly set up and working perfectly in your home.  If you live outside the Thames Valley and West London area, you may wish to collect your turntable/arm/cartridge from us, or set it up yourself, or pay a nominal milage and travel time fee for us to come to you.

Furthermore, a home demonstration is always available from us in the Thames Valley area when appropriate - or you can come and take a listen in our comfortable home surroundings.
